Early Juvenile Literature Collection

The Lois Lenski Collection of Early American Children's Literature is a collection of 18th and 19th century children's books purchased by the author and illustrator, beginning in the late 1920s when she and her family moved into a circa 1830s house in Connecticut. Some of the books collected were inspiration for the character Phebe in Lenski's book, Phebe Fairchild and her book. Selections from this collection are currently being digitized and placed online.
