Primarily documents the life of JoAnn Webb and her service in the United States Air Force. Webb recounts her childhood growing up in Pennsylvania, her memories of the beginning of World War II, her desire to join the military, and her time in basic training at Lackland Air Force Base, Texas. Webb describes the work she was required to do as an Airborne Interceptor Navigator, her bout with Eastern Equine Encephalitis, meeting her husband who was also in the air force, and their eventual decision to marry and leave the military. Personal topics include the enjoyment and pride Webb felt in her role in the military, and her thoughts on how military veterans should receive better treatment than they do.
