University History Collections

The University Archives Collections showcase documents, photographs, and publications related to the history of UNCG, culled from multiple collections belonging to the Martha Blakeney Hodges Special Collections and University Archives. These collections include the student newspaper, alumni magazines, yearbooks, and course catalogs.

 

University Archives

The official records of UNCG academic and administrative departments and student groups:

 

Charles Duncan McIver records, 1855-1906
Over 125,000 pages of material documenting the origin of the school that became UNCG.

 

"Class of" files, 1893-2005
Information on each graduating class.

 

Campus Theater Productions, 1897-1963
Programs and other materials related to theater performances by campus literary societies and other groups.

 

Textiles and artifacts
Photographic documentation of three-dimensional objects related to campus history.

 

University photographs
The visual history of the campus and its students, faculty, and staff.

 

Scrapbooks
Created by university departments and student groups with information that cannot be found in more formal, official records.
