Transcript	Nov. 28, 1898 Faculty met in regular session. The Freshman Committee made a report which was ordered to be filed with the Registrar. Sallie McMurray petitioned to change from course No 1 of last year to course No 3 of this year. Referred to the President with power to act. The following resolution in regard to State education was unanimously adopted. “In compliance with the request of the State Superintendent of Public Instruction for an expression of their views in public education, the Faculty of the State Normal and Industrial College, at their regular meeting, on November 14, 1898, unanimously adopted the following resolutions: Resolved: 1. That, collectively and individually, we hereby declare our advocacy of the most liberal system of public education, not only as a means of intellectual, and moral culture, but also as an absolute necessity to the material prosperity of any people. 2. That, believing that the cause of public education would be greatly promoted thereby, we earnestly advocate the general adoption of local taxation for the public schools of the State. 3. That, realizing that thorough supervision is absolutely necessary for the success and protection of the public schools, we heartily favor a complete and effective system of school supervision. The President requested all members of the Faculty to come to the next meeting prepared to express an opinion as to whether the students should be classified in the next catalogue. The Committee on “Specials” made a partial report on 29 special students. The Committee was continued for further work. Adjourned.
