Description
This circa 1995 photograph shows an aerial view of the baseball stadium . The Baseball Stadium was opened in 1999 and seats 900 . The stadium was designed by Hellmuth , Obata & Kassabaum , Inc. , of Kansas City , Missouri , and Hayes Seay Mattern & Mattern of Greensboro , North Carolina . The two entrance gates , created by sculptor Jim Gallucci from painted steel pipe and round bars , were completed in 1998 and are titled “Play Ball.” The back wall of the press box has a brick relief sculpture titled , “Play at the Plate,” that was created by sculptor Brad Spencer , a The University of North Carolina at Greensboro alumnus . The brick relief artwork was dedicated to Stanley and Dorothy Frank in honor of their longtime support of the University .
