Description	Cheryl 'Cherry' Callahan (1949- ) obtained her undergraduate and doctoral degrees at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and returned to the university in 1979 as assistant to the vice chancellor for student affairs. Subsequently, she became assistant vice chancellor, then associate vice chancellor and vice chancellor for student affairs. Callahan has a unique perspective as she has been an undergraduate student, a graduate student and an employee of UNCG. An adjunct faculty member, she recalls campus unrest and student activism during the Civil Rights and Vietnam eras and the challenges of guiding international students. She discusses sociological attitudes, her role as a student senator and the changes in university institutions and traditions. She speaks to the rift between the Alumni Association and university administration and gives her predictions for the future of UNCG.
