Dorothy Avery (1917-1999) was a pilot in the WASPs (Women Airforce Service Pilots) from 1943-1944, then worked as an inspector for Navy-Lockheed Service Center .
Dorothy "Dottie" Avery was a member of the 7th class of WASPS, beginning her training at Avenger Field in Sweetwater, Texas, in May 1943. After graduating in November of 1943, she was sent to Mather Field, California, for advanced training and was later stationed at March Field in California. |
