COMMITTED TO JAIL.--TAKEN UP AND COMMITTED TO THE JAIL OF WAKE COUNTY, on the 10th inst., a negro woman who says her name is GRACE, and that she belongs to CHURCHWELL JONES, of South-Carolina; and that she was sold by Edwin Berry, of Elizabeth City, N. C., to Cad. Pride, a trader of South-Carolina, by whom she was sold to said Churchwell Jones. Said negro woman is very black, about 4 feet 8 inches high, upper front teeth out, and says she is about 30 years old.
The owner is notified to come forward , prove property, pay charges and take her away, or she will be dealt with as the law directs.
