WAS committed to the Jail of Halifax County, N. C., on the 28th instant negro man JACOB, who says he belongs to Joshua Perry, of Franklin County. Said negro is about 24 years of age, very black, thick lips, has a beautiful sett[sic] of teeth, and is about 5 feet 3 inches high. The owner is requested to come forward, prove property, pay charges and take the said negro away within the time prescribed by law ; otherwise he will be dealt with as the law directs.
