$5 Reward.
RAN AWAY from the subscriber on the 23d of August last, a bound Boy by the name of JOHN or JACK STOUT, he is a bright Molatto, about 16 years of age, strong and thick built, about five feet high, rather inclined to be fleshy; wore away a roundabout Linen Coat and light pantaloons; he took away with him a yellow cur dog, medium size. It is believed that he is lurking in the southern part of Allemance [sic] County, or in the northwestern part of Chatham. I hereby forwarn all persons whatever not to harbour or employ him under the penalty of the law. The above reward will be given for the delivery of the said boy to the subscriber, living 4 1/2 miles northwest from Hillsborough.
