$30 Reward!!!
ELOPED from my plantation on Thirsday[sic] the 13th ult. a negro man named
JULY,
A Slave. Said Negro is very black, and when attempting to tell any thing in its best shape, is apt to swell it into tautology, has on his hand a scar, perhaps the right. But uncertain what kind of clothes he may wear, if not changed a balck hat, blue mixed geans[sic] coat and pantaloons, and blue sattinett do. And has been seen lurking among the free negroes on Richland Creek at Trublood's. He was mainly raised in Randolph county, and will no doubt range among the different tribes of free-negroes in said county, particularly with MELL and BECK, who formerly lived with him, now reside in the nixon settlement. It is possible he may attempt to find the way to some of the free States under the pretence[sic] of being one of the free tribes, and will no doubt be furnished with some kind of a pass.
The above reward of $30 will be promptly attended to for his apprehension in any State West or North of this, or $10 if he be apprehended in Montgomery, Randolph, or Moore Counties; and $15 any where in the State, before he succeseds in getting away, by confinement in any jail or otherwise so that I can get him.
