$10 Reward.
RAN AWAY from the Subscriber, about the 15th January last, negro boy
ALFRED,
late the property of Nathan Mathewson dec'd. Said boy is about 21 or 22 years of age, about 5 feet 8 or 9 inches high, dark complexion, and slender built. He is supposed to be lurking about Tarborough. The above reward and all reasonable expenses will be paid for his delivery to Mr. Benj.[Benjamin] M Jackson, in Tarborough, or if secured in any jail so that I can get him again. All persons are forbid harboring, employing or carrying off said boy under penalty of the law.
