$100 REWARD!!
RANAWAY from the subscriber on the 17th of September last, his Negro Fellow, JOLLY. He is about 5 feet, 7 or 8 inches high, broad shouldered, speaks a little slow, dish-faced, and his hads trmble when holding anything, and he is rather bow-legged. I [illegible] read print.
Also, on or about the first of November, another fellow by the name of JARROT. He is a dark mulatto, (copper-colored,) has little or no beard, his eyes a little red, he is about 6 feet high, frequently holds his lead to one side, when spoken to, as if he was listening to something at a distance, speaks slow, and can read. They are both young and likely.
From what I can find out, some white man has provided them with means to get off; and in traveling, will probably claim them, or give them a pass. No doubt they are supplied with fine clothes, and a considerable amount of money. They may make off separately, to avoid detection, or may have a larger company with them, as several negroes are runaway in the neighborhood, and one is a nephew of Jolly's. Should they be caught, examine them closely for papers, and if any are found, take special care of them, as I wish to detect the white man who assisted them off.
$50 will be given for the apprehension and confinement of my two negroes in any safe jail, or $25 for either of them; and a further reward of $50 for proof to convict any white man of kidnapping them.
Any information respecting them will be thankfully received by the subscriber, at Norwood's P. O., Stanly Co., N.C. THOMAS TOMLINSON.
