President
University of North Carolina
Greensboro, North Carolina
Dear Dr. Ferguson:
May I thank you and the members of the white task force
most sincerely for the excellent position paper which you prepared and presented at our recent Coaching Conference at A & T
University. Your splendid presentation helped to make that a
most significant conference.
The fact that the two task forces were so close together
in their positions is perhaps a reminder that those of us within
the church who are honestly working for inclusiveness, justice
and Christian brotherhood are much closer to each other regardless of our race than we are to the extremists of the white
race who insist upon segregation and the extremists of the black
race who insist upon separation.
The entire Western North Carolina Conference is deeply
indebted to you for helping to make our study of racism and
social revolution a meaningful one. To each of you I would
express my sincere thanks.
Cordially,
The Reverend Jerry D. Murray
Mr. J. R. Graham, Jr.
Mrs. Leslie E. Barnhardt
