proposed amendments to the state constitution* The
people of Greenster© and North Carolina are indebted to
you for the manner and the courage of your speaking*
I believe that your quiet, firm voice and presence in
the past two years haetdone as much as any other single
thing t© keep us sane in Greensboro* And we will need
the kind of leadership you have given in days to come*
You know, of course, that there are many persons in
Greensboro who want t© support your policies* Ws do
not always have the facts ©r the wisdom to know what
should be done* I am ameng these who want to d© everything
possible t© support and strengthen the schools as we move
patiently toward proper compliance with the law* If at
