This November 7, 1979, article, Lindsey Gruson of the Greensboro Daily News reports on growing support for radical groups on both the left and right, such as the Communist Workers Party (CWP), the Ku Klux Klan (KKK), and the Nazi party. Five CWP members were shot and killed at an anti-Klan rally in Greensboro on November 3, 1979. The article also discusses divisions between various communist factions, the upcoming funeral march for the victims of the shootings, and the fact that several racist groups were offering assistance to the KKK in the aftermath of the shootings. |
