Dear Mr* Brazier:
It is with regret thatr I read in The GUilfordian of your
expected withdrawal from the Board of Trustees of Guilford
College•■ 's • '' '• - "■
I have a daughter who is a Senior at Guilford this'year*
I wanted to send my other daughter there as a Freshman this
year* But Mr* George Rbycroft's article in the Alumni Joumal
of September, 1968 entitled "Without Regard To R&ce, Color, CEr
Creed" helped to change my min#* In addition to the more or less
radical views of'Mr* Bruce Stewart in this artittle regarding
who will be encouraged to enter (Hiilford, I do riot approve of:
the core Curriculum being discarded*
My brother attended Guilford."An aunt, Miss $otre Johnson,
thought very highly of Guilford* I am a native North Carolinean
and wanted my children educated at a small school in the South*
But the cost of Education is "too great to send my daughter to a
school which seems to be departing from tried and true practices
and policies* ■ ' "
I also feel that a seventeen year old away from home for the
first time should have some regulations besides those which the
students make* I believe in some change but I do not believe in
discarding all of the old and trying out all of the new* I regret
the change at C&tilford*
Yours truly,
:>
