lg The Committee on Time and Place met in an open meeting
Open me, October 18, 1954. Fourteen members of the Faculty, including
October seven members of the Committee, were present. The Chairman
I954, stated that the purpose of the meeting was to discuss the Guilford
College Faculty's responsibility in the present situation. After
a period of open discussion of apparent responsibilities of the
Faculty, it was agreed that it seems reasonable to know first if
the Faculty is in unity in its desire for integration. Hence, it
was considered in order that we, through the use of a questionnaire
ask each Faculty member to express his or her opinion.
It was also decided that another meeting should be held before
November 15 to discuss the problem of what the Faculty owes the
students in relation to this problem of integration.
