My dear Lula:
The appropriations Com. did not decide on apps this p.m. Will meet tomorrow p.m.
Take “five cents” to the Jr. Faculty’s reception for me and tell them that sometimes I think that will be about the size of our appropriation. It is no ordinary fight McIntyre voted against us, but he did not carry a senator with him. Don't mention this lest it came back to Raleigh as my boast.
L. L. Smith is the only other member of the educational Committee who did not support our appropriation. We are making a hard fight and keeping our courage up. Love to all.
