. The
minutes
of the
two
recent
special
sessions
were
read
and
approved
. The
motions
made
on
March
24
and
laid
on the
table
were
disposed
of as
follows
.
It
was
moved
and
recorded
that
Junior
Mathematics
be
two
periods
for
one
year
and that
Junior
History
be
two
periods
for
one
year
in
Course
I
.
Carried
. The
recommendation
of the
Committee
on the
revision
of the
Science
Course
that
Physiology
be
made
optional
with
Zoology
in
Courses
II
and
V
was
again
discussed
but
action
was
postponed
until
the
next
meeting
. The
Committee
on
Resolutions
made
the
following
report
which
was
adopted
.

State
of
North
Carolina
has
called
Professor
James
Y
.
Joyner
to the
office
of
Superintendent
of
Public
Instructions
and
Whereas
, the
members
of the
Faculty
of the
State
Normal
and
Industrial
College
desire
to
express
their
appreciation
of his
life
and
work
in this
College
, be
it
Resolved
,
First
. That
we
deeply
regret
the
loss
from
our
circle
of
one
endeared
to us by
nearly
nine
years
of
active
service
and
pleasant
companionship
.
Resolved

Second
. That
we
gratefully
acknowledge
the
strength
added
to the
College
by his
fine
scholarship
, his
sound
judgement
, and the
depth
and
sweetness
of his
spiritual
life
.
Resolved

Third
. That
we
bid
him
Godspeed
in his
new
work
and
declare
ourselves
at
one
with him in the
purpose
of
giving
light
to the
children
of
North
Carolina
.
