3/10/1901. My dear sweetheart: I have had two letters from you today, & both of them, though short, helped me. The cold & cough I have had since I left you last Monday have given me a pretty hard time. I am keeping up and going, however.
The Baptists are making their hardest fight on State Normal this time as they did two years ago. The Baptist University’s being here and the other institutions all being for girls & the A.& M. being a local college and the University’s having 100 influential Alumni, here make the burden upon our institution particularly hard as compared with the fight on
