Karen McNeil-Miller (1957- ) graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) in 1980 with a BS in early childhood education after transferring from Isothermal Community College. She also received a master's degree in special education in 1981 from UNCG. McNeil-Miller recalls her graduate and undergraduate experience and faculty in the School of Education and campus life in general from the perspective of both a transfer student and a black student. She discusses the Neo-Black Society, student government and the relationship between black UNCG and North Carolina A&T State University students. She talks abut the Alumni Association, the Black Alumni Council and the type of students who should be admitted to UNCG.
