Sherri Forrester (1936- ) was a faculty member in the Department of Chemistry at Woman's College of the University of North Carolina, now The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) from 1962-92. She talks about her educational background, the importance of undergraduate teaching and chemistry department conditions and faculty, especially Department Heads Florence Schaeffer and Walter Puterbaugh. She discusses the academic freedom she experienced, the growth of the university and the quality and characteristics of students over the years. She recalls the administrations of Dean Mereb Mossman and Chancellors Otis Singletary and James Ferguson. She recalls being a minority in the field of chemistry as a woman.
