Dr. Robert Wineburg was born January 23, 1950, in Utica, New York. He attended Utica College for his BA, Syracuse University for his MSW, and the University of Pittsburgh for his Ph.D. He joined the faculty at The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1980, and has served in several positions including: Professor, Faculty Senator, Chair of HES Promotions and Tenure Committee, and Chair of the Department of Social Work. Dr. Wineburg's research interests include: the relationship between federal domestic social welfare policy and service provision, and involvement of religious organizations in local service delivery and policy development. In his interview, Dr. Wineburg discusses his early life, extensive involvement in the community, projects, and his time at UNCG.
