Description
Chris Fay started working at UNCG in 1980 and retired as Assistant Director of Grounds at UNCG in 2013 after 33 years of service. Mr. Fay and his staff were responsible for many of the campus beautification projects which had been implemented over his career. Under his supervision the campus received awards such as the Tree Campus USA designation and the Preservation Grounds Management Society's Green Star Award. Chris Fay, himself, received the Gladys Strawn Bullard Award for outstanding service and dedication to UNCG. In this interview, Mr. Fay discusses his jobs over his career, some of his favorite projects, changes in the campus landscape, the impact of campus on the UNCG community, and remembrances of Chancellor Patricia Sullivan.
