Description
Dr. Spoma Jovanovic was born in Detroit, Michigan. She received her BA from the University of California, Los Angeles, and her MA and Ph.D. from the University of Denver. She is high involved in service, mostly in the Greensboro area - from NCA’s Communication Ethics Division, UNCG’s QEP Steering Committee, Chancellor’s Advisory Committee for Equality, Diversity, Inclusion, and several others. In addition to her service, she has written numerous journal articles, book chapters, web magazine articles, book reviews, and her own book, Democracy, Dialogue, and Community Action: Truth and Reconciliation in Greensboro. Her research interests include ethics, civic participation, community, critical pedagogy, social justice, and interpretive research methods. In her interview, Dr. Jovanovic discusses her early life, UNCG, the Department of Communications, and serving the community.
