Dr. Daniel Herr was born February 28, 1954 in Santa Monica, California. He graduated with his BA from Wesleyan University, and from the University of Santa Cruz for his MA and Ph.D. His area of research is focused on useful functional self-assembly and biomimetic systems, flexible nanoelectronics and functional textiles, nanobioelectronics and nanoenergy, as well as smart and sustainable nanoagriculture and advanced hydroponic systems.
