Description
Dr. Emily Edwards was born in 1953 in Florence, Alabama. She graduated from the University of Tennessee Knoxville in 1984 with her Ph. D. in journalism and mass communication. She has produced over seventeen films, and has written and produced numerous news stories and documentaries for radio and television. In addition to producing and writing, Dr. Edwards has worked with the University of Alabama at Birmingham to direct their broadcasting program. Dr. Edwards joined the University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 1987 where she is now a professor in the Department of Media Studies. In her interview, Dr. Edwards discusses her early life, her time at UNCG, and the Department of Media Studies.
