Items include memorandums, letters, and other documents focused on the topic of the Student Government recommending the reclassification of the Neo-Black Society from a Type II to a Type I organization after the organization was charged with racial discrimination in 1973. This would stop funding for the organization provided by the university. Faculty committe, the board of trustees and lawyers became involed in the matter. After multiple hearings from March to October of 1973, Neo-Black Society was reinstated as a Type II organization with the agreement that wording under the membership section of their bylaws would be amended.
