Description
Letters and documents written to and by Dr. Charles McIver. Topics include malfunctioning windows in the brick dormitory, the Presidential cover letter and an official statement of the Board of Directors specifying the terms of the college re-opening (including effects on tuition, traveling arrangements, etc), bursar's checks, the epidemic at the college, instructions of the Board, fixing the heating system, McIver's February message to notify students that his son had contracted tpyhoid fever, health concerns, a civics examination, alumni information cards, requests for alumni updates, clarifying that students who arrived at school in October 1900 had contracted typhoid fever before leaving home, and correcting rumors regarding the state and health of students at the college in the fall of 1900. Also included are student applications to the The State Normal and Industrial College; absence slips for classes (including notations for which students were absent because they were ill or at home); and lists of students who expected to remain on the college campus during the holidays, who desired to take music lessons (along with what instrument they hoped to study), and who boarded with private families or in town.
