Description
Letters and documents written to and by Dr. Charles McIver. Topics include a new quarterly student publication, the annual register of Cornell University, the regular appointment and rotation of post masters, lecturers and lectures, admissions procedures, potential new students, the name change to The State Normal and Industrial College, updating the template for diplomas based on the name change, recommendation letters, alumni, ordering copies of hymns and photographs, the school charter, the graduating class' roll and motto, and a male lawyer requesting private stenography lessons. Also included are student applications to the The State Normal and Industrial College, teacher certificates, a clipping from the Durham Almanac on the school, the program from the 1897 graduating exercises, a court summons for the college, and transcripts of the court proceedings stemming from the summons.
