The three Greensboro Draft Boards were organised in October,
1940. Board No. 1, located in the banner Building, served City Precincts
Nos. 13, 16, 17, lo, and Rural Precincts at -umner, Friendship, Oak Ridge,
Ltokesdale, Bruce, and Center Grove.
Local Board No. 2, located in the Jefferson Building, served
the following City Precincts: Nos. 4, 7, 8, 9, *0, 11, 12, 14, and 15.
Local Board la, 3, located in the Piedmont "uilding, served
City Precincts Hos. 1, 2, 3, 5, and 6, and Rural Precincts North Monroe,
South Monroe, Fentress, North Ifadison, South Madison, Worth Jefferson,
South Jefferson, Olay,.North Washington, South Washington, Gibsonville,
Whitsett, and Greene.
The members of Local Board No. 1 consisted of: Wt, ^ack L.
Whitaker, Chairman, and Mr. Roy C. «illlikan and Mr. Ray J. Tjsar,
members. Mr. Wgar T. Howell was clerk of the Board. At later datts,
Mr, Millikan and Mr. John M. Stanaal served as chairman and Mr. H. L.
Bridges and Mr. &. L. Faulconer were ea^aoers of the Board. Byron ii.
Campbell, Hubrey 6, Clyjjorne, and Miss Sarah Clark later served as
clerks to this board,
