This folder contains a number of correspondence items between McDaniel Lewis and Carl T. Durham. This includes a request to release from service an injured Corporal Ruof (Item 001), an item regarding the wish of IRS agent Mr. S.W. Long to leave the IRS for the Army (Item 002), letters regarding the salary of draft board clerks (Items 004 & 003), an acknowledgement of previous communication regarding a Mr. Pruden (Item 005), and letters regarding the ages of men required to register in WWI (Items 007 & 006). One item also includes opinions on the timing of drafting military recruits and rationing as they relate to politics and the liquor industry (Item 007).
