Included in this folder are letters exchanged between McDaniel Lewis and Louise Herring, Personnel Correspondent with the American Red Cross. Mrs. Herring requests an assessment of a job candidate (Mr. Charles Gast) and Mr. Lewis serves as a reference. Of particular historical note is the inclusion of the job requirements, the “General Guide for Selecting Field Directors and Assistant Field Directors for Military and Naval Stations” from the American Red Cross.
