This book was designed to commemorate the success of the Cone Mills and their transformation of the economy in the south. Planned and written by Carl J. Balliett Inc. of Greensboro, this book features several photos of the current staff of the Cone Mill Co., among whom were Herman, Bernard, Benjamin and Julius Cone. In addition to photos and illustrations of the manufacturing plants there are images of the many facilities established by the Cones or in proximity of the mills; the Philadelphia Lake and Buffalo Reservoir, the mill villages, the Textile Dairy Farm, Proximity Farm, the schools, churches, and the original YMCA buildings and the associated festivities.
