This folder contains a variety of undated essays on literary subjects written by Mary Mendenhall Hobbs. Titles and topics include the Iliad, King Arthur and the Holy Grail, the "Land of Homer" Macbeth, Shakespeare's life, Elizabethan England, and the life of Monica (mother of St. Augustine); a composition notebook titled "The Novel" is also included. The folder also contains an "advanced announcment of the New York Times Shakespeare Tercentenary Series' in the form of a 14-page pamphlet.
