This folder contains letters from Catherine Cox to her family, though chiefly to her parents. They detail her experiences at Guilford College. Of note is mention of "tacky parties"(parties that are intentionally tacky), rain ruining both the May-Pole dance and the High School day, listening to the Marine Band Concert in Greensboro, participating in helping both freshmen and upperclassmen situate themselves (and mentioning that the "Guilford boys" decided to be nice and not make the freshmen do the "rat dance" whatever that is), reminiscent talk while she prepares to graduate, watching the "question mark"(a big endurance airplane) fly over the college, hearing of William Phifer committing suicide back home, finalizing classes, recitals, and shopping for clothes. There are no dates on the letters, but most of the personalized stationary lists Catherine Cox as the president of the Young Women's Student Government Association (YWSGA), meaning they are likley from her junior or senior years.
