Grayish yellowish-green (122) very fine diagonal rib cloth; series binding with ornately decorated design divided into panels and ribbon shapes with rules, ornaments and patterns across cover and spine, in gilt, very dark red and reddish-orange; includes pepper plant design in reddish-orange, dark red, and reserved green, five Pepper children in gilt, and lettered panels in very dark red and gilt; publisher's name in white on spine.
