FOR THE BEST YEAR f YOUR LIFE I + ...SERVING OTHERS The American National Red Cross Needs Qualified Young Women Who Are Willing To Serve One Year Overseas in South Vietnam or Korea The Job Is Very Special You will be part of a dynamic program to help maintain the high morale of American servicemen. You will worlo?tm' yflUrtjswomen in planning and presenting group recreation^ activities which provide fun and relaxation for the men. As a clubmobile worker, you will be assigned to a military command covering a designated area. You will live and work in a group of five to ten members under peer leadership of a unit director. Basically, the job is clubmobile, or mobile, recreation, but at certain locations in Vietnam you also help operate recreation centers. f the It is the kind of job with special appeal I challenge of one year in another part of the world r working along with our American servicemen. The Work Is Rewarding Are you creative? Could you develop an interesting program on travel, holidays, sports, music, or current events? Ideas for programs include a wide variety of topics and may be presented as quizzes, stunts, games of all types, puzzles, skits, and amateur dramatics. In teams of two, staff present hour-long participation type programs in messhalls and day ro6mT"arrcr~everr outao'Ors. An average of four or five different military units are visited each day. Teams travel to distant military units by helicopter, jeep, boat, and plane, in accordance with military security regulations. Training Is of the Best Upon appointment, you will participate in orientation in Washington, D.C, before departing overseas. On-the-job training continues in weekly staff meetings and workshops. You will work closely with experienced supervisory staff who are responsiblefor persOlinul imd program effectiveness. Yours will be a year of personal growth and development of leadership potential.. .of opportunity to learn program planning techniques... of practical experience in group work. Most of all, you will learn much about yourself and others. Sometimes just listening is part of our job There Are Basic Qualifications To qualify, you must be — • Single, 21-24 years of age • In good health • A graduate of a four-year college • A U.S. citizen free to serve overseas But that's not all. The job requires considerable ingenuity and a capacity for hard work under far less than ideal conditions. It calls for endless energy, patience, and understanding. It demands a genuine desire to help others. It will necessitate full use of the skills you have gained through participation in college activities and camp or community center work. We adjust our programs to all kinds of situations
