. She
enlisted
in the
Marine
Corps
Women’s
Reserve
in
March
of
1945
, and
attended
basic
training
at
Camp
Lejeune
in
North
Carolina
. In
June
1945
,
Pauquette
was
assigned
to the
post
office
at
nearby
Cherry
Point
Air
Station
. She was
discharged
in
June
1946
and the
following
month
married
Staff
Sergeant
Charles
F
.
Pauquette
,
whom
she had
met
at
Cherry
Point.
"
Following
her
discharge
from the
Marines
,
Lucille
Pauquette
and her
husband
moved
to
upstate
New
York
. They
returned
to
North
Carolina
in the
1950s
.
Both
worked
for
Western
Electric
,
where
Lucille
Pauquette
did
assembly
work
and
inspection
until
resigning
to have
children
a
few
years
later
. The
Pauquettes
continued
to
live
in
Greensboro
in
retirement
.
