Item description	Outdoor Uniform worn by members of the Red Cross and U.S. Army Nurses in France during World War I. The uniform was made by Abercrombie and Fitch Co. and is constructed of olive green whipcord fabric. The uniform jacket is belted around the waist and contains four buttons with the Red Cross symbol. The fleur-de-lis patch on the left shoulder indicates that the nurse served overseas in the District of Paris as part of the U.S. Liaison Services to the French Army. The chevron patch bordered in golden thread at the cuff on the left sleeve signifies that this nurse also served overseas for a period of six months. The trim on the collar of this nurse's jacket is tan, indicating that as well as serving as a nurse, she also worked in the capacity of a clerk.
