taught
school
for a

Carolina
Power
and
Light
Company
in
Raleigh

North
Carolina
, for
six
years.

WAVES
in
October
1942
. She
attended
five
weeks
of
basic
training
at
Mount
Holyoke
College
in
South
Hadley

Massachusetts
, and was then
ordered
to the
Bureau
of
Ships
in
Washington

D.C.
, in
December
1942
. She
primarily
performed
administrative
work
, and she
remained
in
Washington
until
her
discharge
in
December
1945
.
Louise
Nash
married
Lieutenant
Howard
Dorsett
on
4
January
1943
in
Staten
Island
,
New
York
. The
couple
settled
in
Charlotte
,
North
Carolina
, in
1946
and then
moved
to
Mt
.
Gilead
,
North
Carolina
, in
1947
. She
passed
away
on
11
October
,
2011
.
