Dearest Mother and Daddy," Received 2 letters from you to-day, one written Aug. 3rd and one Aug. 5th. The last one sure came through in a hurry. Just about as fast as that one I wrote that came in seven days.
Well, they are still bickering about the war, and I wonder just what they will decide to do, and when. Frankly, I think they will accept our terms, but this suspense of just waiting until it actually happens is terrible.
The last letter I had from Louis was written 2 Aug. I just wonder if he might be on his way to N.C.
I'm still very busy on the ward, and the only nurse. Wish we would get some more nurses in to help us out.
I had a letter from Jewell the other day, and she was telling me that Virginia Klutz had gotten married. She was in my class in High School. I don't know if you all knew her or not.
We've had a little rain for the past couple of days which has certainly been a relief from the heat. I guess you all are having some pretty hot weather back there too, for this time of year. But then some of the hottest days of the year are in August.
""Rebel"" is lying here in the tent sound asleep. She sleeps so hard all day she just wears herself out. One of the other nurses has a dog too, and they play together all of the time.
Well, I guess this is all for now. I'm going to take a shower, and settle down to reading for a while.
