Dearest Mother and Daddy," Married 2 years to-day. Actually it seems such a short time since that day when we were ""bustling"" around Charleston, and we really were in a ""stew"" about this time. I had hoped last year that we would spend this anniversary together- Louis and I. We've had a lot of heartaches and sorrows the past year, but we've had equally as much joy and happiness, if not more. Louis has been through a great deal too, a lot more than any of us will ever know.
But I'm still glad we got married when we did. I think if we both had it to do over we would do it the same way. We love each other so very, very much. But of course I guess you know that already. It's very obvious.
Every day I go dashing over to the Chief Nurse's office to see if I might have gotten a letter from Louis. I'll probably be so excited when I do get one I won be able to read it. But I know it will be along soon.
To-day I got a copy of ""The State""- the April issue. I also got a copy of this little paper called ""Home Town News"" from the Central Methodist Church. It's news about the ones in the service from Concord. I noticed Jewell Warren is the Editor. You might call her and tell her that I got it. I also had a letter from Aunt Esther and Uncle Clifford to-day.
Yesterday I got 2 letters from you all- the one written the 3rd and one the 5th. Yes, about half of those little kids at Martha Anne Frexler's party, I either took care of or helped deliver. Gee, sure makes me feel like I'm getting old.
I know you must have enjoyed having Vivian and Roberta there to visit you.
Well, we've got a new tent girl, and she's very good. I think I told you about the two we had who neither spoke nor understood English. They were with us for about a week, and we sure had a ""gay"" time. One day I was trying to make them understand that I wanted my shirt and slacks pressed while I took a shower. They couldn't get what I meant even though I went thru all sorts of antics. So I finally ended up by getting one of the other girls to explain what I wanted. By that time I was practically pulling my hair out.
Say I would like to see that ""ritzy"" table. Know it's beautiful.
So Florence has come back to Uncle Roy. That is the limit. I wonder what will happen now?
I'm having my P.M. to-day. We aren't able to get any more days off because we're so busy. But a half day helps.
We've had some good movies lately. The other night we had ""It's a Pleasure"" with Sonja Heine, and to-night we're having ""Practially Yours"" Its so convenient having them right in our Club next to our quarters.
Well, I guess this is all for now. I have to go take a shower. Will write again in a couple of days.
