Dearest Mother and Daddy,"" Well I think I'm beginning to come back down to earth now, to a certain degree. But I still feel so very happy just knowing that my darling Louis is safe. He may even be freed by this time, as fast as they are freeing the American prisoners of war over there. I'll bet he even beats me back to the states. But I don't mind that. I should be hearing from him soon, because they are allowed to write, even if its just a few words.
The most recent letter I had from you all was written the 8th of April. But yesterday was the pay-off. I got one from you written January 25th. What about that? I also got one from Aunt Bess dated Feb 18th. Better late than never I guess.
I saw a good movie the other night sitting out under the palm trees. It was ""A Song to Remember""- the life of Chopin. The music was wonderful.
I'm off from 9-12 to-day so I'm catching up on a few letters. I've got plenty to write too, and now I feel like writing to everyone I know.
I had a P.M. yesterday and Fay Brown (Cohen) came down and spent the afternoon with me. We just talked and talked. She is with the 90th Field Hospital not far from us.
It's still been terrifically hot here, but they say this is their summertime. We had a bad rain and wind storm several days ago. It blew over a couple of tents and I thought ours was going. There was a lot of thunder and lightning.
I had a letter from Vivian the other day. She said that Uncle Geneva had been down to visit her.
Well, I'll say so long for this time. I'm feeling fine and very happy.
