Dearest Mother and Daddy," Well, here we are still on our way. There still isn't much to write about. Everything is fine and I'm feeling good. Of course, it's still pretty hot, but then that is to be expected in this part of the country.
We made a stop recently. I can't say where but the scenery was beautiful. We only saw it from the ship, but it looked good to us on matter how far away- palm trees by the millions. It was so gorgeous.
Last night we had a movie outside. It was ""Ball of Fire." I had seen it before, but having nothing else to do, I went to see it again.
I hope everything at home is fine. It seems so long since I've heard, and so very much longer since I heard from Louis. I hope we'll get some mail before too long. While I think about it I wanted to tell you all not to write many V-Mail. One now and then will be alright, but I would rather you send them all Air Mail. You can say so much more and I just like them a lot better.
I had to move from the Officer's Lounge and now I'm writing out on the deck. The breeze feels so good. I just read the morning bulletin and I noticed that the 9th Army is in action on the Western front, so I guess Louis is in it. I sure wish I could hear from him.
This writing is not so good because the wind is blowing my paper and the ship is swaying a little. But I guess you will be able to make it out. It seems like I'm just rattling on and saying so little, so I'll just say so long for now.
