News gets less and less - specially [sic] since I've been a patient here for over a week - They are trying [to] make me have a gastric ulcer or gall stones - I feel fine but must remain in bed - as a result I don't know anything -
How are you? Your family too. Have you tried the new doctor? It's good to know that Dr. Kraft will have a relief - working such long hours and so hard is the causative factor in the death of many young doctors - He was a splendid person.
How are your Jimmy's eyes?
My mother is working - she's a secretary in the nation's office at home - I think it will be good for her if it isn't too difficult. She has too much time on her hands. She and my sister are moving into an apartment which is most sensible. I had a letter from my beloved brother. He is ""at sea"" somewhere in the S. Pacific - wasn't the story of the Jap horror on Bataan the most ghastly thing? I could kill those dirty little devils bare handed.
All my friends are leaving here for Station Hosp. over seas - I do wish I'd get started - Stay healthy - and write
