Dear Eunice Did you say no snakes. Are you kidding a big 4 footer just disrupted our drill formation. He was coming up to the girl in front of me. However he was harmless but boy you should see the girls scatter. You don't have to worry about my snake bit [sic] medicine as Sweetwater is a dry county. The County's run wet and Dry. This is the dryest [sic] in Texas.
Well they let us have the morning to ourselves to catch up on our work. Cleaning our Bay's, moping [sic] and washing windows and woodwork. We did just have an hour of drill and we are all dripping with sweat.
We mess in an hour and our afternoon will be spent in meeting our instructors etc. I think we start Flying Saturday. This is sure one super place and all the girls are so swell and congenial.
Taps blew at 10:00 P.M. sharp and all lights were out. It gave us all a thrill and we were properly impressed. You could here [sic] it again as they blew it for the other Barracks, sounded like an echo.
But first thing this morning 6:15 sharp Reveille was sounded. We sure do have a lot more regimentation than I expected and we will all be very healthful souls when we finish if we finish. We have a parade Fri for the graduating class which will be nice, it is the 2nd class to graduate. We are the 7th class. Write soon and let me know how you are getting on.
