was
born
and
raised
in
south
central
Wisconsin
.
During
college
, she
worked
as a
nursing
assistant
at a
local
hospital
, and
decided
to
join
the
United
States
Navy
upon
graduation.Beginning
in
October
1980
,
Senzig
spent
six
weeks
at
Officer
Development
School
,
Officer
Training
Command
Newport
,
Rhode
Island
. Her
first
duty
station
was in
Millington
,
Tennessee
,
where
she
worked
in an
obstetrics
ward
,
before
being
transferred
to
Roosevelt
Roads
Naval
Station
in
Puerto
Rico
,
where
she was
assigned
to the
nursery
and
assisted
with
labor
and
delivery
until
1985.From
1985
until
1988
,
Senzig
was
stationed
at the
National
Naval
Medical
Center
in
Bethesda
,
Maryland
, and in
1990
she
received
her
master’s
degree
in
obstetrics
from
Catholic
University
. She then
began
work
in
Charleston
,
South
Carolina
, as the
Division
Officer
of
Labor
and
Delivery
,
before
transferring
to
La
Maddalena
,
Sardinia
, in
1993
to be the
officer
in
charge
of their
clinic.In
1995
,
Senzig
was
assigned
to
Washington
State
and
served
at
both
Naval
Submarine
Base
Bangor
and
Naval
Hospital
Bremerton
. From
1998
until
2000
,
Senzig
was
stationed
in the
Mariana
Islands
,
Guam
, and then
spent
2000
until
2003
at the
Naval
Medical
Center
in
San
Diego
,
California.From
2003
until
2005
,
Senzig
was
stationed
in
Keflavík
,
Iceland
,
where
she
helped
with
infant
deliveries
and
acted
as the
executive
officer
and
commanding
officer
if
needed.Senzig’s
final
duty
station
was
Marine
Corps
Base
Camp
Lejeune
,
North
Carolina
,
where
she
worked
as the
Deputy
Director
of the
branch
clinics
,
completed
fitness
reports
and
evaluations
for the
corpsmen
, and
eventually
became
the
quality
manager
of
Naval
Hospital
Camp
Lejeune
,
before
retiring
in
November
2008
.
