overseas
training
. In
July
1943
she
arrived
in
England
as
member
of the
76th
Company
,
First
WAAC
Separate
Battalion
, the
first
WAAC
contingent
to be
sent
overseas
. There,
Thompson
worked
as a
stenographer
for the
VIII
Bomber
Command
until
she was
appointed
personal
secretary
to
General
James
H
.
(Jimmy)
Doolittle.

the
war
, she
married
Curtis
Thompson
, and from
1961
to
1976
worked
with the
Office
of
Civil
Defense
in
Dallas
.
